Moodubidri Alva's Takes Over Lourdes Hospital

Kanajar, Dec 6: Lourdes Hospital Kanajar, an Institution founded in 2003 with the active participation of then Parish Priest Fr. Remigious Aranha, members of Kanajar Welfare Association and their well-wishers predominantly from the Gulf States has been serving the people of Kanajar Parish and surrounding neighborhoods for the past 2-1/2 years.

In pursuance of the vision of its founders, the management has been seeking a tie-up with a reputed Institution in the region. After evaluation of some keen proposals, the management decided in favor of the prestigious ALVA'S EDUCATION FOUNDATION MOODABIDRI to manage the hospital for a period of 5 years. Consequently a lease agreement has been signed between Alva's Education Foundation represented by its Chairman Dr. M. Mohan Alva and Lourdes Kanajar Charitable Trust Kanajar represented by its Chairman Lawrence Saldanha in early November 2005.

Alva's Education Foundation is one of the fastest growing Medical Education Institutions in the region and we are confident that the tie-up will yield positive and speedy results, which will lead to the realization of our vision, says Saldanha. The hospital will be fully staffed for round the clock service with an Administrator, 3 duty doctors, a dedicated Gaenacologist, 3 visiting surgeons and adequate supporting nursing staff besides round the clock Ambulance service for emergency pick-ups.

Alva's have planned the official inauguration of the new management on Sunday 11th December in a grand function to be held in the open private premises next to the hospital premises. Dignitaries like Shri Vinay Hegde of Nitte Education Trust, Shri. Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala, Gopala Bhandary former MLA, Sunil Kumar present MLA of Karkala, Fr. Alwyn D'Cunha Parish Priest of Kanajar Parish are expected to take part in the program scheduled to start at 4:30PM on Sunday.
