Kanajar, Jul 8: A training program on Gender Equality was conducted at Kanajar under the aegis of Matha Maria Mahasangha Kanajar. A total of 84 members from the federation participated, along with 19 members from Chetana Men's Mahasangha Kanajar.
Through interactive activities, participants gained insight into the existing
disparities between men and women, boys and girls in the community, which are often
perpetuated by cultural beliefs, religious practices, and social rituals. By the end
of the session, the participants resolved to eliminate these differences in their
families and society.
Fr. Harold Pereira, Parish Priest of Kanajar Church, graced the occasion as the chief guest,
while Mr. Stany Saldanha, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, was the guest of
honour. The training was effectively conducted by Mr. Stanly Fernandes, Coordinator of Sampada
Udupi, and received positive feedback from the participants for its impactful approach.
