Field Day Sports Organized at Kanajar

Kanajar, Aug 4: Field Day Sports "Gadhyanth Ek Dees" was organized at Jeevan Jyothi compound Kanajar under the aegis of Chetana Men’s Group on the occasion of their first year anniversary of establishment.

Lourdes Church Kanajar parish priest Rev. Fr. Harold Pereira presided over the inaugural of the event. In his address he commended the inspiring work undertaken by Chetana Men’s Group and its contribution to the society. Mr. Antony Miranda, President of Chetana Men’s Group welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Eliza D'Souza of Jeevan Jyothi declared open the sports by cutting the ball suspended ribbon. Chief guest Mr. Alton Rebero, President of Men’s District Federation (Udupi), Mr. Stanley Fernandes, coordinator of Sampada Udupi, Mrs. Mabel Nazareth, convener of the 20 commissions of Kanajar parish and Rev. Fr. Joel Aranha (Paraguay) were present on the dias.
Mr. Edwin Mendonca, secretary, Men’s District Federation, assisted by Mr. Rakshit Shetty and Mr. Nelson Machado, meticulously conducted the sports events. Mr. Wilson Noronha treasurer Chetana Men’s group kept track of the fixtures and the announcements of sponsors for various events. Mr. Ronald Nazareth, secretary of the group, proposed vote of thanks.
Various games were conducted for the age groups of children and adults and were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Prizes were distributed to winners by Mr. Antony Miranda, Mrs. Anitha Quadros and Mrs. Mabel Nazareth. Mr. Prakash Martis and Mr. George D'Sa compered the entire event.
