Kanajar, Apr 12: YCS (Young Christian Students Movement) Udupi Diocese
organized a diocese level residential camp on "Coping with life in village" at
Kanajar parish. The camp was held at the picturesque farmland of Mr. Borji
D'Souza who is a veteran farmer near Ranganapalke here.

The five days residential camp was inaugurated on April 7 at 5:00 PM in the evening.
Kanajar parish priest and YCS Karkala deanery director Rev. Fr. Dr. John Mendonca inaugurated
the camp by symbolically breaking a coconut. YCS Udupi diocese director Rev. Fr. Edwin D'Souza,
parish council vice-president Mr. Ignatius D'Souza, parish council secretary and YCS Karkala
deanery animator Mrs. Janet Menezes, Church B ward gurkar Mr. Vincent D'Souza, YCS president
Jaison Tellis were present on the dais. YCS Udupi diocese convener Mr. Leslie Aroza compered
the inaugural program.
Various group activities were conducted that included village chores such as cleaning the fields,
cooking food, etc. Udupi diocese Bishop Most Rev. Dr. Jerald Isaac Lobo visited the place and delivered
his message. Participants presented programs involving cultural and heritage aspects of function
celebrations of our fore-fathers. Also there were entertaining games and camp-fire organized.
The camp was concluded on the 5th day morning on April 11. Around 70 students from Udupi diocese had
participated in the camp.
