Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar Opens New Road at Kowdoor

Kowdoor, Feb 24: A new Road linking Maruti Nagar (Annerkatte) to Yeradu Salu (Don Sala) riverside via Glarida and Old Eliyal was inaugurated by Karkala MLA Mr. Sunil Kumar in the presence of Mr. Anthony D'Souza APMC President, Mr. Vikram Hegde (President Karkala Taluk Panchayat), Mr. Bhoja Shetty (President Kowdoor-Bailur Panchayat and other dignitaries.

Two Kilometers linking road between Glarida and Old Eliyal was constructed by Mr. Lawrence Saldanha Kanajar at his own expense and passing through his own land for the benefit of around 100 surrounding residents along the length of the Road. Earlier, Mr. Saldanha had constructed the one Kilometer link between Glarida and Mairlotte. With this new link, a new road 5KMS from Maruti Nagar to Yeradu Salu is now open for the public.

Mr. Sunil Kumar, speaking on the occasion commended the selfless initiative taken by Mr. Saldanha for the progress of the village and said that in his 3 years as MLA, it is the first of its kind project inaugurated by him where a private individual has taken up a project of public interest.
