KWAE celebrates "Monthi Festh - 2004"

Dubai, Sep 17: Kanajar Welfare Association, Emirates (KWAE) celebrated Monthi Saibinechea Fest at Winny's and it was indeed a fest worth remembering. There was a crowd of nearly 60 people - all families and friends who had met together to celebrate the fest as well as catch up on the latest developments.

The day started with a prayer led by Merlyn and team singing the hymns Moriyek Hogollsiyam and Sakkad Saangatha Melyan. The children gathered round the statue of Infant Mary showered flowers and thoroughly enjoyed the act.

Aloysious D'Souza, the current president of KWAE briefed the audience about the association and its existence in UAE as well as in other parts of the world. In his welcome speech, he praised the efforts of Kanajarians in coming together and standing up to the occasion of organizing and participating in the various Konkani functions throughout the year.

Children as well as adults enjoyed themselves in the various games as well as entertainment lined by the upcoming young Kanajarians. Marina Menezes and her team gave a colorful performance which all enjoyed. The main highlight of the evening was the delicious food home prepared by all the members, served on traditional Shirethi which truly reflected the family spirit.
